Wavewalk fishing kayaks - about us

U.S. Patent #6871608

ABOUT US

In the beginning we were a new company with a revolutionary vision about better paddling and fishing, and we had a patented invention that would enable it all.

Today 'About Us' is the story of a well tested product and confirmed achievements. More importantly, it's about W kayakers and W kayak fishermen - people across America and in other countries around the world who are taking part in the development and improvement of their favorite sports and outdoor activities. They do it while expanding the envelope of what was previously recognized as achievable.

So far no one used our boat for jumping down a huge waterfall but people who use it do enjoy things like extreme comfort, super stability and a new level of mobility they couldn't attain before with either canoes or kayaks.
Although we didn't send a team of W paddlers to the glacier lakes of Patagonia to get some spectacular pictures, people who paddle our boat and fish from it in winter feel more protected than they used to be in traditional kayaks.
Not too many people specialize in kayak surfing, but every day W Kayakers including elderly people and children enjoy playing with our boat in the surf, simply because now they can, and it's fun.

This is about regular people who do exceptional things such as stand up paddling and kayak fishing standing on a daily basis, and all through the year, because the W kayak calls for it.  They spend longer hours in their W boat without getting out; not because they're into breaking some record, but because they feel very comfortable in it. They can stretch their legs at anytime and in any way they want while staying in.  It's also about people who launch their W Kayaks anywhere they want, go wherever they want and beach it anywhere they choose to, thus enjoying true freedom they couldn't have before with either sit-in or sit-on-top kayaks.
Those of us who fish from our W kayaks enjoy the extra power they get from their legs in the riding position. After all, when you cast or fight a big fish you need all the power you can get.

We're all regular people who do extraordinary things with their kayaks, and we feel great discovering more new things we can do with them.  We like new things if they are better than the old ones and we don't care too much about conventions. We're open minded individuals and we like to take decisions by ourselves based on our own judgment and common sense.
We want to have more fun without giving up our full comfort, and we think to ourselves "let's rock" when we see approaching the big wake generated by a fast motorboat because it's no longer a problem for us - just one more source of amusement.

And here's our little secret: most of us like to stand up in our W kayaks and engage in a casual conversation with regular ('mono') kayakers sitting as low as water level… You may like it too.

At Wavewalk we feel we're just a part of this unfolding story, and we like to stay in touch with our clients long after we've delivered their boats to them and made sure everything is OK. It's because we always have something new and interesting to talk about: A new, fun experience, a new idea for outfitting the boat, a new cool picture, a new challenge - It's always fresh and fun, and it keeps growing.

That's about us and that's what we like, and there are more of us everywhere - from Taiwan to Great Britain and New Zealand, and from Canada to Texas.

2008: GROWING SUCCESS
ACROSS THE BOARD

2007 was a very good year for Wavewalk, and 2008 was even better
Although our competitors estimate that the US kayak market shrunk by 8%
this year, our annual sales kept increasing at a strong, double-digit rate.
  As for
the number of individuals who visited this website, it crossed the 100,000 mark in 2008, with people enjoying longer visits reading articles, customer reviews and blog posts, as well as watching movies.
However, the most important thing for us is the fact that our customers are more satisfied than ever, with some coming back to purchase their second, and even third W-kayak. We value their satisfaction and loyalty as the true signs of our success.
